Record‑breaking range of summer courses – these attract the most applicants

More than 4,600 people have chosen to apply for one of Mid Sweden University's summer courses as their first choice. At the same time, the supply is at a record high.

Mid Sweden University is still one of the most popular summer universities with a continued top three ranking. This is shown by new application figures from the Swedish Council for Higher Education, UHR, which also reports that the total number of applicants for summer courses at the country's universities is increasing. Those who chose to apply to Mid Sweden University had 62 different courses and programmes to choose from, which is more than ever.

"Our summer courses are of high quality and we continue to be a university that is popular to continue your education at, which is great to see. We are actively working to ensure that the range of services attracts students, says Anders Fällström, Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University. 

Psychology and Law Most Popular

The application round for this summer's courses ended on March 15 and 4,602 people chose Mid Sweden University as their first choice. The total number of applicants to Mid Sweden University's summer courses was 14,329 people. Last year, the corresponding figure was 15,271.

When it comes to which summer courses are most popular at Mid Sweden University in 2024, the top list looks like this:

1. Psychology BA (A) Positive Psychology, 569 first-choice applicants
2. Law BA (A) Introductory Course in Law, 337 first-choice applicants
3. Psychology BA (A) Fundamentals of Psychology, 278 first-choice applicants
4. Criminology BA (A) Victimology, 275 first-choice applicants
5. Business Administration BA (A) Project Management, 259 first-choice applicants

The majority of the summer courses are distance learning and provide an opportunity for further training of those already working and for new students to try out or prepare for higher education. Already established students can also speed up their education through the summer courses.

The application period for the summer courses has ended, but for some courses a late application may still be possible to see, www.antagning.se. At the same time, the application for the autumn semester's courses has opened with a deadline of 15 April.
